THE SWAROVSKI FASHION ROCKS IMAGE
Capturing the Swarovski Fashion Rocks mood and propelling its momentum, Swarovski has commissioned world-renowned fashion photographer, Nick Knight, to create two iconic images showing Naomi Campbell wearing specially designed crystal-encrusted jewellery and headphones. These dynamic images can be seen, spreading their sparkle around town, on the sides of London’s equally iconic buses. Nadja Swarovski says, “Nick’s eye and Naomi’s presence together bring a celebratory and energetic spirit to the campaign.”
SWAROVSKI FASHION ROCKS COLLECTION
To capture the Swarovski Fashion Rocks’ edge, and celebrate its unique fusion of the arts of music and fashion, Swarovski approached a select group of quintessential rock n’ roll designers to come up with an exclusive capsule collection of crystal-smothered jewellery and accessories. Rock star jeweller, Stephen Webster has made an ‘Ace of Spades’ pendant, using a chandelier drop, encrusted with a spray of black and white cubic zirconia stones. Meteoric rising star, fashion designer Christopher Kane, whose first show this year at Swarovski Fashion Rocks is fully supported by Swarovski, has created a vibrant ‘Purple Rock’ version of his famous bolster necklace, of purple velvet covered in graduated shades of amethyst crystal. Legendary punk-rock jeweller, Tom Binns, has made a ‘High-Rise’ cuff, inspired by downtown city architecture, and hip New York DJ, Donna D’Cruz has completely crystallised her professional ‘Rasa Rocks headphones’, covering them in shimmering amethyst crystals. Swarovski’s own couture accessories collection, Daniel Swarovski enters into the spirit of Fashion Rocks, by creating three mega-statement jewels, rocking with crystal style: ‘Blondie’, a black lacquered satin roll choker, with pave crystal clasp, draped with fifteen strands of jet crystal mesh; a matching monumentally sized ring of silver studded at random with sharp jet crystals; and ‘Nico’, a crystal jet chain from which swings a massive medallion, made in pointiage, Swarovski’s exclusive technique for encrusting with crystals.
DIVINE ROCKS
Forever associated with rock star glamour, Versace commemorates Swarovski Fashion Rocks with the launch of a new and exclusive crystal stone, specially designed and precision-cut by Swarovski working hand in hand with Donatella Versace. The stunning new stone, named Divine Rock, a glimmering silky lemon colour, cut into a contemporary asymmetric shape, also pays homage to Swarovski’s history of creating spectacular, bespoke crystal stones for the world of couture.
SWAROVSKI CREATES A NEW PRODUCT BRAND

112 years ago, in 1895, Daniel Swarovski I, a Bohemian inventor and visionary, moved to the village of Wattens, Tyrol in Austria, with his newly-invented machine for cutting and polishing crystal jewellery stones. From these beginnings, which revolutionised the fashion world, Swarovski has grown to be the world’s leading producer of precision-cut crystal, for fashion, jewellery and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors. Today, the company, still based in Wattens, family-owned and run by 4th and 5th generation family members, has a global reach, with some 20,000 employees, a presence in over 120 countries and a turnover in 2006 of 2,37 billion Euros. Swarovski comprises two major divisions, one producing and selling loose crystals to the industry and the other creating design-driven finished products. Swarovski crystal components, known by their product brand names CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements for fashion and STRASS® Swarovski® Crystal for architecture and light, have become an essential ingredient of international design. Showing the creativity that lies at the heart of the company, Swarovski’s own-brand lines of accessories, jewellery and home décor are sold through more than 1150 Swarovski stores and concessions in all major fashion capitals, while the exclusive Daniel Swarovski accessories collection has become the company’s Couture signature. The Swarovski Crystal Society has close to 400,000 members worldwide, keen collectors of the celebrated crystal figurines. And in Wattens, Crystal Worlds, the multi-media crystal museum, has attracted over 7 million visitors since it was opened in 1995, as a celebration of Swarovski’s universe of innovation and inspiration, of crystal as the ultimate creative material. The Swarovski corporation also includes four industrial brands, Tyrolit®, manufacturing grinding tools, Swareflex, for road safety reflectors, Optik, producing precision optical instruments and Signity, Swarovski’s brand for genuine and created gemstones.
