For autumn/winter 2006/07, the emphasis shifts to silhouette. This season sees a departure from the usual embellishment of the collection, although embellishment it never-the-less constitutes. It was my desire this season, to use Swarovski crystals in the form of knit. I wanted softness and a fuller more textured feel to the collection and most of all I wanted something new.

By threading metal-backed crystals onto cashmere yarn, re-spinning this crystallized yarn with a similar yarn to add body, the process could begin. The resulting garments are hand-knitted and crafted in such a way that these over-sized cable-knitted dresses, sweaters and coat, give the illusion that they are made of crystal, yet they move and caress as only knitwear can. Dresses and coats are slightly A-line, and over-sized roll-neck sweaters become tail-coats. They all have one thing in common however, armour-plated as they may seem, this plating is not metal but crystal, and the universal name for this is Swarovski.
