VERRIER - NEW YORK

Verrier - "The Verrier Spring ’08 collection was inspired by the theme of transformation. I looked a lot at the French Impressionist Edgar Degas's paintings of Parisian girls who were transformed from street urchins into elegant ballerinas. I was also influenced by Cecil Beaton's art direction of the film "My Fair Lady" and Audrey Hepburn/Eliza Doolittle's rags-to-riches metamorphosis. Swarovski crystals are applied onto VERRIER garments to create dimensional luxe texture. More specifically, Swarovski crystals, that are the same tone as the fabrics used in the collection, are sewn onto a selection of garments to subtly shimmer...bringing to life my concept of transformation to beauty."
