"As the spring/summer collection evolved, influences from teddy boy rockers to 90's surf culture became ever more evident.

We hoped to explore the leather jacket as "an aggressive symbol of teenage revolt" while taking inspiration from the old rockers jacket. In particular, there was an interest in the intricately embellished studwork.

Our intention was to emulate the studwork but at the same time create something with a more futuristic feeling. Swarovski's cosmic sew on stones in Crystal AB provided the perfect alternative to the stud. Their uneven shape creates the illusion of broken glass, and they feel raw and dynamic. The coloured mirror effect resembles a hologram, shooting off a multitude of
colours depending on the light source and the angle at which one views it.

The crystals are closely clustered together in order to create pieces that feel rebellious and almost armour-like. At the same time the heavy embellishment nods to an early couture tradition."
