THE BRITISH FASHION AWARDS 2006

Swarovski was the proud partner to the British Fashion council when celebrating the British Fashion awards 2006 at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London on Thursday November 2nd.

Many leading names were honoured at the Awards and Britain's fashion elite including Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Bailey and Manolo Blahnik were joined by Lady Ella Windsor, Bryan Ferry and Billy Zane among other glamorous presenters.

Aside from adding the requisite sparkle, Swarovski's involvement allowed for the creation of a new award, titled the British Fashion Council Fashion Enterprise Award. This award, consisting of a £50,000 cash prize, was presented to one of Britain's most promising designers to aid his / her business development.

Swarovski is delighted to announce Jonathan Saunders as the recipient of the first prestigious British Fashion Council Fashion Enterprise award sponsored by Swarovski. Jonathan Saunders was presented the award by Nadja Swarovski together with the Creative Director of Burberry, last year's winner, Christopher Bailey in recognition of his innovative and inspirational work as one of Britain's most promising designers and to aid his business development.

Nadja Swarovski said of the winner:
'We are thrilled that Jonathan Saunders has received this truly well deserved award, 'The BFC Fashion Enterprise award sponsored by Swarovski '. It has been a pleasure for Swarovski to have worked with him and his professional team in the last few years. We hope that this recognition and the financial support will enable Jonathan to continue to build, grow and evolve his business, while allowing his creativity to flourish'

Swarovski salutes Giles on winning the prestigious British Designer of the year award and Marios Schwab for winning the New Designer of the year award at the ceremony. Both of these designers have been supported by Swarovski this season.
