Autumn/Winter 08
"The VERRIER Autumn/Winter 2008 collection is inspired by the opulence of nineteenth-century Tsarist Russia. Taking visual cues from the court jeweler to the Romanovs, Peter Fabergé, the collection is delicate and embellished with SWAROVSKI crystals accents, but also has a bohemian edge extracted from Russian peasant silhouettes. Interestingly, I also took inspiration from a recent trip I took to Tokyo, where I noticed a street trend for more formal dressing. By using embroidery techniques to apply the SWAROVSKI crystals, the collection celebrates the modern elegance of femininity."
