Design Innovators Celebrate the Art of Light, December 6th, 2006

Miami, FL- Swarovski, the world’s leading manufacturer of cut crystal, unveiled the 2006 Crystal Palace Collection at the Paris Theater, an Art Deco landmark in South Beach at 550 Washington Avenue. The opening coincided with Art Basel Miami Beach 2006 and the Crystal Palace exhibition.

Guests of Swarovski and hostess Nadja Swarovski toasted the stunning new collection in the monumental exhibition space, while DJ Donna D’Cruz dazzled party goers in a custom Swarovski crystal-encrusted corset, bespoke hat by Phillip Treacy and matching headphones, spinning a special set inspired by the Crystal Palace. Chandelier designers Alex de Betak, Natasha Zupan, Gisue and Mojgan Hariri, DB Kim, Yves Behar, all mingled among their acclaimed designs. Also in attendance were Danna Swarovski, as well as Zaha Hadid, Esteban Cortazar, Murray Moss, Max Fraser, Barbara Gladstone, Dianne Camber, Kenny Scharf, Paul Kasmin, Dana Hammond, Kim Hastreiter, David Hershkovits, Cecilia Dean, Stefano Tonchi, Reinaldo Bibolini, Christopher Mason, Genevieve Jones, Naeem Khan, Magdalena Wrobel, Shirley Mallmann, Rebecca Carcelle, Anthony Haden Guest, Farhad Farman Farmaian, Sandy Pitt, Julia Peyton Jones, Alexander von Furstenberg, Gene Pressman, Carlos Mota, Princess Thi Nja of Vietnam, Kate Schelter and Kim Heirston. The evening continued on with a private dinner over the pond at the Hotel Setai.
