VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM CHRISTMAS TREE
Swarovski sparkles at The V&A

English fashion designer Alexander McQueen and cutting edge lighting designer Tord Boontje worked with Swarovski crystals to adorn the Christmas tree they have designed for the Victoria and Albert museum, Christmas 2004.
Boontje and McQueen’s tree is made up of thousands of clear Swarovski crystals on polished stainless steel branches. Both Tord Boontje and Alexander McQueen have collaborated with Swarovski on various projects. Boontje designed the highly acclaimed ‘Blossom’ for the Swarovski Crystal Palace Project, where designers were given the brief to “reinvent the chandelier” and McQueen has used Swarovski crystal components in several of his seasonal couture collections.
