MILAN - APRIL 2002

Swarovski Crystal Palace launched the first collection during the Milan Salone del Mobile in April 2002. Challenged with ‘reinventing the chandelier’, leading names from the design world worked with the full range of Swarovski crystals and technical expertise to create dramatic and original designs. Showcased for the first time at La Segheria were pieces by Hella Jongerius, Paola Navone, Georg Baldele, Nigel Coates and Tord Boontje.

For more than a hundred years Swarovski, the Austrian family company based in Wattens in the Tyrol, has been the world’s leading manufacturer of cut crystal. Crystal jewellery stones and crystalline semi-finished goods for the fashion, jewellery and lighting industries are as much a part of the company’s product range as gift articles and collectibles fashioned from faceted crystal. And since 2002, Swarovski Crystal Palace has introduced a new audience to the delights and possibilities of Swarovski crystals.
